Welcome into the ring of verse. This is of course the ringer's Nexus podcast feed for all things.
Fandom, we are Steve the architect, almond the builder and Tinger of things.
Jump me to explain it. Dinner on. You got questions. These are going answers.
Old man Van, he of the receding research and hairline coat.
Baby, Chuck, 24 carry clothes together. We are known as Adam and Nightboy.
We'll be right back after this.
Quick pause is a special podcast. We're coming to you live. Not live recorded. This is recorded.
This is not live. It's not us. We are coming to you from New York Comic Con.
Come on. Yeah. Well, we're all here. Back home. Back home. Oh, back home for Chuck.
Back home. Yeah. So we got the our panel that's coming up Saturday.
That's right. Then we have our meeting greet, which is Saturday night.
Saturday night. You'll cut your bar. And we have a so we have no country barbecue.
Meeting greet. No badge. No badge. For the panel. Make sure you see it's at the panel.
No badge for barbecue night. No, but no barbecue for all men. Okay.
Yeah, if you run up on us, yeah, just be ready. Right.
Yeah.
Now a bridge beginning to this because we want to give you guys a little little vision view into
vision. Oh, well, we just experienced so far at New York Comic Con, which is the Marvel
television panel that we just got out of. Give you a couple updates from that.
Do we want to wait for two hours in a line and then talk about the panel?
Where? Hey, you know, there you go. Wait, if we can, if we can compare San Diego Comic Con
to New York Comic Con.
I don't know what to say. Okay.
A little later. Okay.
Let's start.
He's going to come.
Wait, he's going to come.
He's crazy.
All right. So the first thing up, then I want to talk about is Daredevil born again season three.
Charlie Cox came out.
Charlie Cox.
Charlie Cox.
Christian Ritter.
Phoebe Jones.
Joe's.
My call. Where's culture?
So culture wasn't there. Okay.
Culture working. He's working. They thought that he was going to be there.
It looks like he was a last minute dropout. I'll say something here.
Finn Jones looks noticeably bigger. Oh, yeah.
Um, which let's just be real.
As Iron Fist before, people criticized him for a lack of physicality in the role.
Iron Fist is supposed to be the greatest martial art on the artist's planet.
Right. Maybe second.
Sean.
Yeah.
Uh, but it looks like that he committed to the role from a physical standpoint a little
bit more just from what I saw before we get it to it.
Or we too harsh on Finn Joe, like if I just came up today or
do you know what?
No, I'm just not a good show.
Don't do that.
That's what you want to say.
I know you haven't.
We weren't, but like they were out there and the defenders as far as trailer that we saw
seem to play really, really integral to the season that we're gonna see is there.
So the first thing that we saw from the trailer that I wanted to discuss is it's obviously
Matt is in prison from the last season.
And the first thing we get is Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist in an office and
they're all getting basically like badges.
Somebody hands the badge.
We don't know who that person is, but someone is deputizing them.
The new mayor, maybe, but why won't they show us the new mayor?
We know the new mayor.
Wait, who is the new man?
It's the later from the season two where she gave Spider-Man the key to the city.
Oh, right.
Yeah.
So why not show us that if that's hurt?
I think that's because Jessica Jones is like, come on, we know that one's missing.
So obviously, pardon me, is like, are the defenders gonna try to break that out of fucking
prison?
Sounds like he doesn't need to be broken out from the clips we saw.
First of all, he looks good.
Okay, great.
Charlie Cox looked ripped in this trailer, which you guys might be able to see because
it's probably putting on YouTube, nothing released it.
He is in prison.
He looks like the devil of hell's kitchen.
Yes.
And this is heavily based on one of Ed Rubik's run when Matt gets sent to jail.
So basically in the, you guys probably already seen it.
Matt takes off Rips.
His shirt.
His shirt puts it over and it's not even like a prison riot.
It almost seems like a fight.
Yeah, no, like he's running the fight.
It is his shirt.
His prison jumps soon and he makes it.
Yeah.
He's got the full beard.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I mean, it looked like you have two different things going on at the same time.
And this is also the final season of Daredevil born again.
So his journey inside of prison to get outside, but then also the defenders who are deputized
and made legitimate go out there and defend not a lot of Wilson Fisk in this trailer.
We only saw a brief glimpse of him with the beard and I was like, where the fuck is Wilson
Fisk?
Remember what happened to him at the end?
He went to an island of some sort.
Yeah.
And he's like, he's still there.
And so the questions that are answered by this trailer are, are the defenders back together.
Yes, that was cool.
Who they're fighting?
And actually don't know.
Based on that run from the comic books, who is your main foe in there?
Do you guys remember if you read it?
In the comic books, what's interesting is that the way that they base, if I'm remembering
correctly, because I read this in middle school high school, is that a bunch of Daredevils
dress up like Iron Fist dresses up as Daredevil to basically be like, how is Matt Murdock
Daredevil if he's still hopping around the city?
Right.
I don't think that they're going to do that.
And then another complicating factor is I didn't think Bullseye was going to be back.
Yeah, man.
So yeah.
Bullseye.
This suit looks incredible.
It's great.
Awesome.
Looks incredible.
I mean, who would they be fighting?
I actually don't know because part of me is thinking the mayor sliding them those badges.
Are they now saying that vigilantes are legal?
Well, it would seem that obviously the mayor here would try to undo some of the more
draconian measures that wasn't implemented and get them back to a point to where their
deputized, deputized in the city, like they're helping and all that stuff like that.
And they're more legitimate because the central tension in the last season was that you
had these masks out there and they were made pariah, right?
New York and they're going to pull back from that to see where the story can go.
There was so much more energy in this trailer than the previous seasons of Born Again.
And there was almost a bittersweet moment where Charlie Cossack has asked about the final
season and he brings up like the Sarah saved Daredevil campaign.
Do you think it might be a mistake for Marvel to cancel it right as they're the ending
of the last season, like they finally kind of figured the show out finally.
It seems like a mistake a little bit.
I mean, we'll have to see what it looks like, but it just seems to me like man, back in
a day, if people like like to show people watch the show, you just kept making the show,
right?
It's people kept showing up every week to watch it.
You would just keep making it.
And now because of the way TV works, a show like Daredevil Born Again, which has had
as stumbles, but for the most part, people have been like, we like to show, we like to
scare, like some more of it.
And they're like, actually, you ain't got to worry about it.
Which is so crazy because like the whole reason that we went to this panel is for Marvel
television.
And by far, this was the TV show, at least as far as longevity is concerned that they've
believed in the most outside of one division in Loki.
I feel like Daredevil has to be their most successful live action.
I mean, you can't.
I mean, you're almost talking about two different.
Oh, you mean on Disney plus?
On Disney plus.
Okay.
For sure.
Look, I'll be honest with you.
The show has had its stumbles.
It's a problem show for Disney plus trouble show.
But if you get it right right now, let's say season three, why two are like, wow, and
this is crazy special.
They finally, like they finally got the recipe right on Daredevil Born Again.
You don't think they go back to the table?
So I think that Charlie Cox, when he was on stage, was a little annoyed.
He was a little annoyed to be back in a situation where the save Daredevil narrative has to
happen again.
If you if you're reading his face, he's like, I don't know, like the fans, when they get
into their save Daredevil situation, we'll see what happens.
I don't think he's giving up on the show because all the cards on the table.
This final season would have to be perfect and sublime for us to believe that they ended
this show without leaving story on the table.
I just felt like they started to, you guys just point scratch the surface of what this
show could be.
And I don't see how they would other than giving us the defenders and giving us a jolt
of like recent nostalgia.
What could be the story that could finish up this story and make us feel like there wasn't
anything else to tell?
So I mean, we might as well talk about it then.
This panel felt a little weird because it feels like Marvel is in the middle of like
they're in the middle of like rethinking their entire strategy for live action because
we got a little bit of zodiac, which they're saying is a live action spy thriller.
And all they really said is like, it's in the logo and there's the shield.
There's a shield logo.
There's a sword.
And then a couple of other like different fonts in those letters.
One quest is the last of the Wanda vision trilogy.
And the canceled Wonder Man, which was critically acclaimed.
So it almost seems like this was like, hey guys, stay with us.
But if it's not animation, we're kind of backing off a little bit.
Well, I mean, kind of, but not even like back enough.
Again, you have vision quest.
The only live action TV show next year will be, will be Daredevil born again.
And then the board's clear until 2028, what's Ode to act and they have any to cast
Ode to act.
And then the casualty act they've.
Like, peeled that thing all the way back.
But that tells you something now that the shows that are lingering from the most uncertain
time in the history of Marvel, they are willing to say goodbye to pretty unceremoniously.
Right.
The shows that for Wonder Man, if Wonder Man doesn't figure prominently into secret
wars into the Southern stuff, what happens to the character?
When they reset things, they probably have a clear understanding of what they want to
do with their world.
And everything else, you know, those babies are going to get thrown out with all that
bathwater.
Now, I'm not saying that that's right.
I'm just saying it like this is the, to Jomi's point, this is the kind of rinse and repeat
that we keep falling into with the MCU to where if things don't feed upwards, and if they
don't flow downwards, then that stuff in the middle is expendable.
Juan Division has its own lore.
It's almost like it's own corner of it.
So like they'll finish up that trilogy and we'll feel like we're fulfilled.
The rest of this stuff is kind of creative orphans from a time when they were doing a bunch
of stuff that it doesn't feel like they're doing anymore.
Then why then why do something like zodiac?
If zodiac is going to be a spy thriller and when we say, well, that's after.
So zodiac will be 28.
So that'll be after a secret wars.
And I'm assuming, wait, because X-Men is 28, too, right?
Right.
So that'll be in their new world where they can maybe feel like they're a new.
I don't know anything about that story.
So you guys would have to tell me more about.
I wouldn't know either.
I think the more I think about it, the more annoyed and pissed off I get actually because
what it feels like, where's my phone?
Somebody like kind of called their shot on zodiac in regards to like what the show will
look like.
And they said, it is an X-File style episodic show that will be led by two three characters
new to MCU that I've potentially little to know history in the comics.
It is designed to fit into the background of the MCU and pick up, explore and expand
stories and characters that have not been used in a minute as well as introducing new
corners to the universe.
You know, that's like, you know what that sounds like?
That's a job.
That's ages to shoot, man.
We had that.
We had that for 139.
It's not easy.
It's just the shield.
It's great.
You know what you could do.
You know, you could you know, you could you could bridge a gap.
Hey, man, you could bring what's it called Darcy and agent who they're not going to
do it.
They will not be doing that.
You could throw in some some days.
It's an agent coals in in there.
We straight.
We all going to look, but it's just like Darcy, man.
But it's really just going, it sounds like they're just remaking it as a shield for
a new for the multi for the the X-Men, the mutant target.
If Zodiac is a new shield on white stop playing around, just bring back shields.
Just fucking bring back.
Yeah, man.
Just do it.
Story can figure out everything if they utilize and deploy the story in the right way.
A zombie shield agency or like made up of a bunch of different things or the establishment
of sword and shield in the right way.
All of that stuff can work, potentially with a slate wiped clean.
But it does seem like beyond the animation stuff, what we're going to talk about right
now, a lot of this stuff, they're figuring out a way to give us the best way to say goodbye.
Yeah.
And it's clear.
Charlie Cox does not want to say goodbye to Daredevil.
To me, Daredevil has yet to be given a real shot in the MCU.
Like the Netflix Daredevil was just deep ripe lush with flush with story.
Like just abundant with the feeling of what Daredevil is like all of that stuff.
Punisher, they've not introduced him perfectly in the MCU.
But it seems like they maybe because of their relationship with John Burranthal, they've
committed to Punisher in the MCU in a way that I can't say they haven't committed to
Daredevil because they've given Daredevil three seasons.
Three seasons.
We forget she whole like yeah.
But it turns over.
It turns over.
We saw, we just saw the punisher having like a real role, like a real immense role in
the latest Spider-Man.
And that's probably doing a lot of work for Punisher because they've definitely committed
more to Daredevil.
Right.
But when Daredevil was in Spider-Man, he was there for a big part.
I thought it was like a little different time.
This is like 2021, lose still a little, the rights is still a little weird or whatever.
But at the end of the day, man, like that's what we're talking about in terms of like
the stuff trickling down.
We look at Punisher in a certain way because Punisher was in that movie.
He was like an integral part of that Spider-Man.
He bumped Tom Holland.
That's like, give me Charlie Cox.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Just like, like, here's the thing, he could be in my next movie.
That's kind of been my question ever since we've had this like kind of slowing down of the
MCU TV shows where I'm like, we've had so many of these efforts.
We've only had a few graduate to the movies.
We've had a monvelani come in the Marvels.
We've had Punisher and then very few.
Yes.
You could argue, if you just, I mean, we talk about like characters.
Yeah, we talk about like storylines like Wanda, after Wanda Fish and things like that.
Like some of us video movies before.
Right.
I mean, but it originated on Disney Plus.
Right?
So some of the stuff has like come over.
Right.
But at the end of the day, I think when you don't have that to play with anymore, like
in like when you slow down the output to zero, then what does Marvel, like what does it,
like Marvel Disney Plus?
It just does exist anymore.
We're back to where we were.
No, they're way frexmen.
And it's so clear that it's just like they're going to try to play book over.
You're going to put some, you're going to put ex-manage characters on TV, man.
But look, the zodiac thing is proof positive that they're not giving up on that TV experiment.
That's true.
We thought they might be.
The zodiac thing is proof positive.
I guess now the question will be finally, can Marvel find a way to marry what's happening
on screen in the theaters to what's happening on the small screen?
It is clear that the Disney Plus strategy did not work.
Like it doesn't even seem like really giving characters their origins on television shows
work that well.
It just didn't seem like it worked that well.
But we just saw it work with lanterns.
So I mean, I'm not saying that it doesn't work period.
I'm saying that it didn't work for the MCU.
And maybe that's not even the fault of the TV shows themselves.
Maybe those stories weren't strong enough to your point.
But I also think it's like if you look at lanterns as much as like we were talking about,
oh, do we need more green lantern, ring-sling, whatever.
Zodiac is a perfect example of a show that they can keep grounded.
Like secret invasion should have been a grounded show.
There is no reason why they had to like, I think the MCU and Kevin Feige might see
something like lanterns and is like, okay, everything does not make sense on Disney Plus.
But there are certain stories we tell.
Garedevel should have been a perfect example of like, it's been a TV show before.
Don't overcomplicate it.
Yeah.
Keep it ground love.
Right.
And it's been a television show that worked.
Yeah.
That worked.
No TV show though, that just kind of danced around other things that were happening in the MCU.
They weren't really concerned with them.
You know, Garedevel worked best kind of, you know, the universe that was disconnected.
But don't we think that that should kind of be their way into these stories where it's
like to me the TV show should just work as TV shows.
And it shouldn't feel like homework for the movies.
I mean, I agree but I like, I also think though that like, from a fan perspective, we
also have to maybe.
You can say it.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Like for a fan perspective.
Okay.
So the eternals come out.
The movie comes out.
All right.
Where would the eternals when Thanos came somewhere else right?
Yeah.
They were somewhere else.
I'm a beach.
Like there was somewhere.
We just watched an entire season of Lanterns where we could have been like, hey, you know,
wear Superman, wear it to the die.
Like, you know, there was some that were doing some of the shit.
I don't know.
Like, I get it.
But that for as many comic books as we've read and we've read a lot of comic books, motherfuckers.
But for as we've read, you could do that with almost everything.
Some adventures are for some characters.
Some characters don't get involved.
Now, you know, in the comic books for the Infinity Saga and all that stuff, like it was
pretty much all hands on deck.
So I can kind of understand it.
But that, how many where should be?
Are we going to see Spider-Man, all of that stuff?
Sometimes has diminishing returns when we're talking about characters that need to be more
siloed off like Daredevil that are better like that and letting them kind of have their
own little universe.
If we pivot to the animation, we got to see sneak peak of X-Men 97.
The clip starts with a surge, a new X-Men who is trying to get into like a walled off
city.
And she is saved from the sentinels by the Brotherhood of Mutants.
And is that the first we've seen of the full Brotherhood in this incarnation of the
game?
Because we had Mystique, we had Toad, Pyro.
Was that Richter?
Was Richter there?
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
I was the Richter.
are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are are
bring this video up and now I'm gonna make sure that I give the YouTube created credit because I don't want to put any
This is one of your long YouTube
Ragged holes. Yeah, what are some while you look at up?
What's some of the new YouTube's that you want videos you want to shout out? Oh, man. How do I?
Is so many so
How many boxing compilations are we ignoring about a lot? Okay?
This new guy max something. Okay, so this is called his guy's name is Castro on culture. Okay
And the video is a 17 minute video about why a apocalypse is a bad X-Men villain. Oh, no
I don't know if I could go sign this, bro
He makes a great case. Okay. What are the points? Well, I can't remember all of the points right now
But because because he goes through to the beginning of apocalypse and how apocalypse came about and how X-Men fandom got kind of obsessed with
Apocalypse and why apocalypse has never really panned out as an X-Men villain
I'm not saying that everything I totally agree with but it is a compelling case and if you watched it
It might almost
To your point even though you think apocalypse is a good villain, you know, my almost buttress
Your feelings about this last season of X-Men 97 about how complicated it got because apocalypse is a very
Very weighty villain and and it's not always
Executed to the highest level when you have
Different eras and time travel and an unkillable mutant photo that infects all of your people
It's it's hard to do it's I would say and I love this last season of X-Men 97
I thought they they they accomplished what they wanted to accomplish
I want to make sure I say that but to your point not being in Egypt. Maybe this guy does has some points
I here's the I do think apocalypse is a villain that is very hard to write in that people ruin and almost
The things that apocalypse inspires like arc angel or the uncanny x-forged shit is more entertaining than when the villain is on screen
And to me the X-Men are
usually the best when they're in modern times
Talking about like race and sexuality and like all of those weighty subjects at the minute time travel gets brought into the X-Men
It's fun, but you're like damn there's a lot of to be clear
I like apocalypse
Say I like the time travel stuff is giving me some of my favorite X-Men ever to be clear
Okay
Okay, but I am saying
That even though this was handled I enjoyed this last season of X-Men 97
Apocalypse is a gigantic
Saying the same shit was the same fucking YouTube video while you guys don't know
Can't be is actually powerful mr. Cedars to actually fucking enough them niggas shut the fuck up. Go get some
Sorry
You passed the light
You know
But no, so I was excited to see the X-Men 97 clip did it was really good. I think X-Men 97 for what it is is the most consistent Marvel property out there
That exists. I think it's the most consistent one
Like it more consistent than the the vision quest area. I chose you well
Well, I think that's pretty consistent, but we haven't seen vision quest yet and I'll be the end of the trailer look good
It looked not to do the right
They spent some money on that and that probably speaks to the live action. I do think vision quest
Might be the last of its kind
Yeah, in terms of budget in scale
It really shows that they like really wanted to like send off Paul Bettany or like send off at least the idea of
Disney Marvel television like this because I'm not gonna act like we we're not gonna act like this was a planned trilogy of
Wandavision
All along in this right like we're like it's more of like okay
This is kind of like an actual closing of a chapter with vision quest. That's more like actually grandiose and send off
I just feel like part of it is also you know these guys are robots and they gotta look certain way
So you gotta put some bread, but I think like yeah, I mean all I feel like this is a continuation of like the Falken winters soldiers
Obviously the wandavision is the look. He's where you spend a bread
You get people from the movies
Paul Bettany James Baylor like if you're gonna do that. Yeah, you don't spend a little extra money
And it's not real movie stars too
You know what I'm saying
You don't get Paul Bettany to put them on like a TV budget like that's not going
Like there's a connection to these characters that doesn't that don't exist that doesn't exist
Yeah, say for a lot of the characters that we have yeah sure
These are people that have been big front line characters in Avengers movies
Spaner's been around for a long time. He comes with some cash a and this story is deep
It is about a lot of deep shit. It's about the nature of existence
They mentioned about the mission fathers and sons fathers and sons consciousness
It's pulling on a lot of threads that really the MCU is oriented around right and so
And it there's just because of the weirdness of this part of the world
Which is something that's like always been awesome that they've really gotten right about the wandavision portion of the MCU
It's odd
It's the type of thing that you watch and there's mystery baked into it
Always on your back foot with the story the performances are great and these stories are really grounded in family dynamics
But you never quite know what's really happening right which is like
Awesome. It's awesome. It's it's own pocket. Yeah, so they can fuck up the characters and do what they want
And it's like if you are rocking with wandavision and have not seen any other MCU movies
You're still gonna enjoy this which I think works right now for the rest of this stuff. We can go super quick
Marvel zombies were getting three of them in the next three years. We are getting
Winter soldier winter soldier the Fistakashu which somebody went nuts
I
And then the last one is the last Guardian. Yeah, so I mean obviously the first one is coming what next year Halloween
2027 yeah, we'll be the winter soldier and then in 2028 will be the Fistakashu shout out to the homie man
You know you're getting your wish man. And the third one seems like it's gonna be like a Peter quill guardians of the galaxy
Well seemingly mean could be Peter could be group could be freaking Navila Gamora who knows the last Guardian right
It could be anybody. I'd be interested to see like it probably makes sense that is Peter, but
Could be rocket that you know bad a good for you know right now, you know and then me and then
Didn't watch the friendly neighborhood spider-man, but my fuck is going up
What did you guys think of me? I think I think it held up to the promise of the first season
I think it looked good. I just really liked the look of this show not so much like the
Animation itself, but like I've always loved like a classic like Kirby-esque
Look for an animated spider-man cartoon and this like really kind of delivers on that. I've liked this so far
I'm very curious to see what they're gonna do with a venom storyline
Yeah, yeah, what they tease there the fight with auto locked TV's was crazy really fun. I enjoyed it. You enjoyed it
And I'm so with Disney plus right now. I think the the thing about this show. I mean we also saw
Gwen Stacy as
Ghost spider or spider or whatever they're calling her now in the comics
I mentioned see two things one in this season particular how they handle the black suit storyline
That's how you judge all animated series once they bring that black suit in its heart
What you got from I thought it was gonna say I'll chase you the ends of the earth and then I thought he was a
To shock it. I'd be day. That'd be funny, but no like
Oh the 90s has its run the
spectacular spider-man did it and like a really cool way
So we'll see what it looks like for this show and two to bring them back to seeing Gwen in there
And when we get miles
We got we got a dead spider going it's it's I mean
They got you showing up in all this shit and I'm like come on bro like too much
Now I just look like my thing is like why not I guess if you can't put miles in there cuz it's only like not that's
I mean the guy's butterman so
Like a series put spider-winning there put all the shit, but I'm like bro. What's they supposed to be dead? Like what are we doing?
Okay, you don't know what it means. What do you mean? There's some right hood shit all over fucking again
Well the problem is one person bought her back and then both like wow, this is really cool and when we're gonna win pool
Docs she was everywhere you talk about like a plant people yeah, that was an industry plant for sure
Quistacy for like
Four or five years was everywhere dog. They was they was trying
But she's that's the only one that stuck around you know like it kids shit. Kids shit
Kids like Chris says baby shit
So
Baby shit, anything else we got on the dock before you really really quick
This was not a comic-con, but I want to ask y'all's opinion so DC obviously is now
Part of Skytank. Skytank. Yeah, uh
Safrin James gun are staying on
Deadline reported that they are the movies that
Are in development so I actually we're getting men of tomorrow
um next year and then they're saying we're getting oh
In development wonder man wonder woman swamp thing a destruct and bay movie
At a teen Titans movie that Batman braven the braven the batman braven the bull
How many of those movies do you think we are actually getting braven the bull for sure wonder woman for sure everything else is up in here
Swamp thing maybe I think swamp thing is
Is tied to how well clay faced us yeah, yeah, if clay face goes crazy for how much they spend on it
Which is not much as our movie. I think they're gonna be like all right. Give us all the horror characters if that underperforms
I think teen Titans swamp thing all that shit. They're like swamp thing is as
Brilliant a character as he is inaccessible. Yeah
There's really a time when they've put swamp thing on screen to where like hasn't been very good
Yeah, the swamp thing television show that they came out with some time ago
Was good
It was good the character is just kind of inaccessible now the uh where we'll find night
Series or or one shot that marvel had a couple years ago had man thing in it and
When you saw that character was deployed and that you saw it's pretty awesome swamp thing
Will probably be if if really treated with care like a really awesome story
The question is whether or not audiences
Will be able to like identify with swamp thing in a big big way right because it's it's weird like it's a weird thing
He's weird
That's the flash of character yeah like front line straight up. It's about it is swamp thing is a really it's a kind of book character
You know
How many good runs swamp thing has had I still think though that it can work
But you got to commit and to the clay face point. I agree
If we see if clay face does well and if clay face is taken seriously and if it's like is really executed well
They'll give them more latitude to do some of these
Just gotta make more money than digger. That's good. That's the thing. We're so easy to dismiss if it's not a financial success
But if it's good both critically and even a little bit financially
It's a precedent setter for not only huge budget DCU's because we're gonna get a million Superman movies obviously
But to know that we can put 40 30 million aside for a swamp thing movie and it can still be good
I think that's great place will pay the way for that the skydads have any choice how many movies do they have
They got 30 a year
With the success of lanterns though
If clay face doesn't do well
Do you think that the DCU pivots to a more serious less comic book pop art style clay faces got
A smaller budget so well for clay face to Steve's point is not as well as some of these other things. Yeah, yeah, but
It you know all it is stuff what lanterns taught us is
This stuff is first and foremost going to be judged by like what actually is put on the screen
It's story. Yeah
Like you know lanterns lanterns was a phenomenal success and he really was a big time success
And it was a big time success because people
People bought into
What was on the screen and weak by weak they built it up
So that's the same on mentioned that these movies have to kind of make too and I do think you know
It is casting it is like you put because there were rumors that Josh Brolin, I think
Yeah
Yeah, I don't know flanterns like I love Josh Brolin as a character, but I'm like
Josh Brolin is a different type of pal then count
Yeah, that's a different show. I think two things one. It's nice that we finally got some
Some Wonder Woman news man. That's that really means a lot wonder woman is in man tomorrow and I'll leave us with this
You know what I've tried to start rewatching and I got some takes on uh-oh
Man, that's super man rewatches is about to be tied for spider man no way home
I
It's not hitting us. It's not hitting us
I can't remember why but I put it on I think it's actually slightly better on a rewatch
I think it's slightly because I rewatched uh like maybe like a month ago or something
I don't think is like it's slightly worse, but nothing crazy you talking like it's a miss at the crib
I would rather re rewatch no way home man
I mean, I can get that but like the last 34 like last like 40 minutes here. I get that but
But like Superman going back and looking at on a rewatch the movie starts
On such a high
Yes, yeah, and there's a and so that kind of gets you through it and Lex the Lex characters great
I like I really enjoy it. I think where I'm bumping easy is like I like when he lands
I like all the crypto shit. I like all the action
And where I've started falling off is like once you know the lowest lane
Clark Kent back and forth you forget how long that scene is long same and I was like oh shit
It don't really hit once I know all the beats
Let's see but I look for me. I I thought that movie was
maybe the most solid B
In superhero movie history. I mean when I say a solid B. Oh, yeah
Like I'll rewatch what is it still solid B solid B the most solid B in in history and look for the first film
Of any superhero movie superhero like franchise. That is actually all you need. Oh, yeah
Proof of concept of the character establish the character come back and you really kick ass on your sequel to me
This is my MCU comp would be a solid B is like
Captain America the first avenger
That's where it's like you convinced me that
Chris Evans is Captain America right then it tomorrow got to be winner soldier right well
Yeah, I mean, but that's what you want right like the first X-Men even though you guys don't agree with me
That's a BB minus to me be minus and then X2 is legitimately in a you've established your characters
You don't have to worry about origin anymore. You can put us in the middle of a story and just go
Like and that oftentimes of course there are ones off the bat that are a's right
Yeah, yeah stuff like that and sometimes you come back and give B after that, you know
Be generous that man begins probably a minus to B plus yeah bad but then the dark
I will say some of the Marvel fans was talking crazy one guy in a lot was just like
He hating
Lunch this nigga way. I was so glad you brought this guy was in line. He was throwing all types of stuff at us
Not like we can just overhear him, but the one thing. I will never forget he had an android shot outside of this guy man
If you watching I love you he was like
He said two things back-to-back that shocked me. He was like yo look
You I know you don't love Sean. Love you, but man. I think he would work wonders with Ryan Gosling
And Ghost Rider, bro. I know you're not a fan man. I know you didn't like devil over me, but man. I can see it right
Followed it up with a because
You know, that's why I think
Thor the Dark Road is the best store movie man because that ragged in rocks don't want really rock
I wasn't rocking with it and I I couldn't see your face. I'm looking around like
Yo, they're really all right. No, bro
Not only that this nigga started going down Sean. Love you's IMDb
Like this nigga was that
Rock
Shalve is a capable director
That fun gear real since he's underrated y'all
He was like yes, left on y'all. He really tapping
I mean because obviously, you know we taught we love movies talk about the stuff people you know
Spillberg have
You know Nolan have everybody's village film and new everybody's got their guy. Yeah, I have never
In my life. See in a Sean levy guy
You know the Sean levy guys are
Ryan Gosling
For whatever use
Those guys they're gonna love working with him
And the question is whether or not that'll turn into like
You know awesome stuff on the screen what goes right and then you also
You can't say and he said this in line. He's like yeah, they're talking about he don't understand hard
Sean levy to practice stranger things. I'm like
Okay, we're here for another couple of days
We are going to be recording and giving you guys
Be on a lookout for our vision quest coverage, which is coming soon. Yep
Record vision quest vision quest. You know coming off of lanterns. Mm-hmm people are still in the mode of wanting great superhero television and can vision quest keep
The cowbell going more cow also be back in this Michelle Obama podcast recording room again. I like it

Michelle Obama Cubs that records in the bowry. What are you talking about?
I like this is a great set. No, it is cool. It's a cool room. Yeah
Very well air it's not as hot as our normal room
I wonder about niggas that have podcast studios like this like when you are running the podcast studio
And you have it is this like a thing that you use when you talk into chicks
You go, hey, you know, I want to I run a content studio
And like because this is a type of place that you could take somebody to take somebody on a date
And then
The new bang bus it could be I hear
People work here man. There are cameras and microphones
There's absolutely nothing wrong with doing you can't be squirting on the podcast
You could do that
Hey
Younger generation man get rid of all of this prudence
Call me traditional van if you want to bring them in here show them around us by any
Place to have sex okay
Consistual sex is appropriate to have if nobody else
There's no inner pro in there's no inappropriate way. There's no there's not an inappropriate there are many places where you should not have sex
Like what give me a park no that is a place where other people can see you there's no I'll say this
There's no inappropriate private place to add consensual sex
Too far private where nobody else you're not
There's no inappropriate is your workplace private if this place right here if there's no
If you're the only person that runs this if it's just you yourself or
Spot you own the spot right. I think you're confusing privacy with private place. No guys. No you're wrong
Like if I own a fucking school bus
If I own a school bus if I own like it is mine and it's
Like the spirit of the sex
I'm talking
Is
I'm asex on the couch there is a way to ruin the couch that okay if you are you can ruin the couch at any point you can ruin the couch
Is your couch you got to deal with it?
You got to deal with it if I'm a couch at the office man would have it to the couch
But if you own the spot is your couch
Like I didn't bit you I didn't been to houses and different shit niggas get go crazy on that shit
But I just saying I got to agree with it. I'm just saying I feel what y'all saying but if
consensual
Private like if you fucking in the park kids walk by mommy daddy was going on you scarred the kids whatever that's no good no good right no good
Okay, that we can agree to like you know, yes, but if you own your podcast studio can sensual sex good yeah
Like you press private like your hey yo, they man things got a little popping in the studio when we were showing people around
It's like that's crazy. That's why they come to rewatch
Don't stay on that sweet
